Record Lakewood Crowd Calls Event "Best Ever"

     If you missed the annual CLC Winter Car Show & Luncheon at the Lakewood Country Club in 2005, you should be very disappointed because many of the 125 attendees called it the "Best Ever" event in the CLC SoCal Region's history.  A good number of these comments came from folks old enough to know.

     Fabulous cars on the lawn, five of which were from the late 20's & early 30's era, were surrounded by newer vintage beauties including Larry Symons 99 point 47 black convertible, Frank Ormonde's 55 white Eldorado, Tony Tschiya's 56 convertible and Lynn Hiller's just restored dusty rose 58 Biarritz.

      "We did not have enough awards for all those deserving a trophy,"stated Julian Cangelosi, "so we were restricted to only the best of the best," which included:

  • Gresham "Ross" Roscamp for his maroon 1930 V-16
  • Ray Payne for his blue 1931 V-12 Sedan Convertible
  • Larry Symons for his black 1947 Convertible
  • Morgan Woodward for his maroon 1938 Fleetwood 60 Special
  • Aaron Weiss for his red 1927 V-8 Phaeton
  • Lynn Hiller for her dusty rose 1958 Eldorado Biarritz
  • Gary Friedman for his black 1976 Eldorado
