2008 Regional
National
Ruby’s
Redondo
Beach, California
July 27, 2008 was the date -- and
the board members had the formula for a fantastic Regional National
down to a science! For the second year in a row the event was held
at Ruby’s Diner in Redondo Beach and this time Cadillacs ruled the
blacktop!
With a perfect location, ideal weather, and
lots of room to spread out and showcase our classics, Cadillac and
LaSalle members were ready to enjoy the camaraderie. And, the day
was a tremendous success.
Although the variety of years in attendance was
quite diverse there was a high turnout of post war Cadillacs and
LaSalles: many 1958 cads (very popular), some late 60’s and a
couple 80’s and 90’s.
But, the majority ruled and the early 60’s were
in great abundance. Fins! Fins! And more fins! Being an early 60’s
Caddy lover myself I was thrilled with this showing.
Tom Bowlin from Penske Cadillac displayed a
gorgeous, black 2008 Cadillac for our enjoyment as well as special
order 2008 Cadillac STS that was painted a custom shade of pink
(originally done for Aretha Franklin).
I think Ruby’s will be our new Regional
National home. Thanks to Penske Cadillac and all the hardworking
board members that made this event rock!
