Ray Malzo, Bronx, New York native took Soule’s advice and moved to Los Angeles in the early 60’s after matriculating at the University of Miami. In Los Angeles, Ray became a mortgage banker and a founding partner in small company that later became Countrywide Mortgage.

Ray has owned a Harley- Davidson dealership for the past 20 years. Although a successful businessman, Ray has always had a love affair with automobiles.

      “When I was 13 years old I started collecting car brochures from the local dealership in New York.” Ray also began building model cars which he still does to this day.  “I got my first car at 16 years old. My dad gave me a low-mile 1949 Buick Road Master Sedan that I still own”.

      Since 1962 Ray has owned over 300 cars and currently has 22 classic cars ranging from Packards to Chevrolets.  Ray’s blue eyes began to twinkle when the conversation moved to Cadillacs.  Ray was recruited into the Cadillac-LaSalle club by Tom Musson prior to the 2006 Grand National.

     Tom cautiously warned Ray not to be disappointed if his cars were “passed” over in the judging. At the GN Awards dinner Ray heard his name called 3 times.  Ray’s 1953 Coupe DeVille received a 3^rd place finish followed by a second place finish for his 1957 Coupe DeVille.  Malzo’s 1962 22,000 original miles El Dorado Biarritz won first prize in Class P-19.

     Ray has also acquired a beautiful 1959 Persion Sand Coupe DeVille that has almost every factory option available for that year.  Beware Guys, Ray is currently on the “prowl” for a 1957 Fleetwood and he will simply look westward.
