Facts:
We've owned the Batmobile for 14 years, and purchased it from the
original owner. We did a full cosmetic and suspension restoration at
the time of purchase, but motor-wise it is and has been a gem; even
though, yes, we have had minor problems to obtain the power brake
booster, get the clock going. But finally, the break-through in making
it a wonderful driving machine, was the switch to remanufactured
steel-belted radial tires. (Re-manufactured in the sense that they do
take off the tread and walls, and replace them with a tread resembling
the historical original, and white walls to the size you specify.)
A last surprise is that this in NOT a coupe DeVille, it is a Coupe just the
same as a CDV but without some of the interior finish items. It was
Cadillacs attempt to make an "entry-level" car, and still call it a model
"62" (the CDV of 1961 is a "63".) |
